A leading third-party logistics and warehouse provider, Kammac has had a long-standing trusted relationship with Mowbray for more than 10 years.
This project required a section of an existing standard warehouse to be adapted to accommodate 5000 pallets. Owing to the sensitivity of the high-value product, the area had to maintain very specific temperature margins.
Mowbray Sales Director Wayne Thomas proposed and delivered a temporary floor-to-ceiling wall installation with a heating and cooling system, which allowed the temperature to be controlled by air circulation. Utilising highly efficient air conditioning units both externally and inside the warehouse, tailored for the precise cubic size of the enclosed space, every individual pallet could be kept within a strict three-degree range.
When Kammac’s client required the project deadline be brought forward, Mowbray was agile in its response, using its own expertise and the experience of its network of contractors to devise an ingenious solution.
Electrical works were rescheduled, and a sheeting wall with a vent to release pressure was installed within days. Alongside the air circulation system, that enabled the new deadline to be met. The sheeting was simply replaced with the temporary dividing wall once that became available from European suppliers.
Fast-acting doors were also fitted to help maintain the required temperature, and separate doors allowed safe and easy pedestrian access.
Having achieved a unique, full-automated and cost-effective storage solution, Mowbray has continued to offer ongoing maintenance support to Kammac.
