Catalyst Computer Systems – Case Study

Catalyst Computer Systems is a leading supplier of business management software for speciality trades, including car and caravan dealerships.

Its technology, insights and expertise are designed to help customers grow profitability, supported by a strong focus on service and efficiency.

In June 2026, Catalyst turned to Mowbray Workspace Solutions to overhaul a property it had leased in Loughborough Technology Centre. The two-floor office had tired finishes and unconventional colour schemes throughout.

The brief called for a complete transformation. The project appeared straightforward – and the solution simple.

But with completion needed within four weeks when the lease expired on Catalyst’s previous premises, speed was of the essence while maintaining quality and high standards of workmanship.

Mowbray wasted no time in getting to work to refurbish the new offices.

Mowbray’s skilled team began on the ground-floor layout, removing existing glass partitions and reinstalling them along with new solid stud and track partitioning, transforming the three original rooms into two: a large open office area and a smaller, private office space.

The existing electrics were upgraded and new trunking installed. A compact tea point, complete with a sink and cupboards, was also created to improve day-to-day facilities for staff.

On the first floor, an open-plan area was divided into three offices using new solid stud and track partitioning, taped and jointed, creating a smooth finish to complement the building style. The electrical system was also upgraded on this floor.

Brand-new oak, 30-minute fire-rated doors were fitted, with full-height glass panels installed alongside them. The glazing introduced much-needed natural light and gave the interior a cleaner, more contemporary appearance. “This paid dividends with the overall look and feel of the building,” says David Edwards, Mowbray’s Regional Sales Director.

Mowbray renewed the carpets and flooring throughout the premises, using hardwearing Tivoli carpet tiles in the office spaces and Altro Walkway heavy-duty flooring in the toilets. The walls and woodwork were repainted in a fresh, clean white.

The stairs and landing were redecorated, the stair nosing replaced, and tired barrier matting at the entrance was renewed to create a smart new welcome. A new intercom with key fob entry system was also installed to improve security and give Catalyst peace of mind.

Careful planning enabled Mowbray to complete the refurbishment on time, while maintaining the standards of workmanship and quality for which the company is known. The result was a revived and refreshed workplace, delivered within Catalyst’s four-week timeframe.
